Everything started while I was drawing orcas and mermaides in my first grade class and suddenly I decided I needed more colors. What my teacher saw next was this little girl with crooked braids stand up and without a doubt in her voice announce that when she'd grow up she'd invent a new color.
Reality is that I'm far from inventing a color, but what I've achieved up to now has made me a very happy person. I've become an artist, illustrator and textile designer and I wouldn't trade it for the world.
I was born and raised in Mexico City. A city that's bursting at the seams with diversity, culture, color and emotions. Surrounded by creative people like my mother who's a painter, my grandmother who was a fashion designer and all of the crazy big-hearted teachers I've had through all my life.
There I studied a BA in Textile Design at the Universidad Iberoamericana, then travelled to the UK and took a couple of courses on Costume Design in Central Saint Martin's, London. I've also experimented with writing and took an Online Creative Writing course given by Oxford Univeristy.
At present I do personal projects, freelance work, fashion illustrations for clothing brands and illustrations for Marie Claire Magazine Mexico. On my daily routine you can find me wearing paint-stained overalls, working away at the home studio I share with my mother, accompanied by my dog Zula who loves tennis balls and playing fetch.
